Mrs. S. W. Pinkham Dies Suddenly
Mrs. S. W. Pinkham, 73, died suddenly at her home in Goldfield Monday evening following a stroke. Her passing came as a great shock to the community as she had been in apparent good health, and was around her home and yard all day. Mrs. Pinkham is survived by her husband and two daughters, Mrs. A. A. Herrick and Mrs. J. M. Stewart of Des Moines. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 at the Methodist church, with the Rev. Fred Schultz officiating. Burial was in Glenwood cemetery.

The sudden passing of Mrs. S. W. Pinkham, life long resident of this community, came as a shock to Goldfield early this week. Mrs. Pinkham had apparently been enjoying good health before she suffered a stroke Monday afternoon. She died at 6:30 that evening.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church here at 2:30 p.m. yesterday. Rev Fred Shultz was in charge. Burial was at the family lot at Glenwood Cemetery.

Millie Augusta DeVoe was born in Greene county, Wisconsin on July 23, 1874. There she made her home until she was united in marriage to Wellington Pinkham on Christmas day of 1894. Early in married life the couple lived on a farm one mile east of Goldfield. The Pinkham's three children were born there: Margie Abigail, Vivian Oretta and Millie Josephine. Vivian died in August of 1901 and is buried in the family lot at Glenwood cemetery. In 1909 the family moved to the house in Goldfield which they now occupy.

Mrs. Pinkham was a faithful Christian, member of the local Methodist church, a member of the Rebekah lodge and a number of other cultural and social clubs. She has always been a loyal wife, a wonderful mother and a kind neighbor.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, two daughters, Josephine (Mrs. James Stewart) and Margie (Mrs. A. A. Herrick) both of Des Moines, their husbands, four grandchildren and a host of friends.

Hold Rites Wednesday for Goldfield Woman
Goldfield — Funeral services for Mrs. S. W. Pinkham, 73, were held Wednesday at 2:30 p. m. at the Methodist church, with burial in Glenwood cemetery. She died at her home Monday evening. Death followed a stroke. Surviving are the husband and 2 daughters, Mrs. Margie Herrick and Mrs. Josephine Stewart, both of Des Moines. Mrs. Pinkham was a pioneer resident of this vicinity.
