Miss C. Wallace Funeral Thursday

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon for Miss Charlotte Wallace at the Methodist church. The Rev. Joy Smith conducted the service and burial was in the family lot in the Glenwood Cemetery.

Miss Wallace died Monday evening at the home of Mrs. Andrew Fisher as the result of a fall. She was in a coma several days before her death. Miss Wallace had lived in this community for many years and was an active member of the Methodist church. She lived a devout Christian life and her kindly influence will be missed by her many friends.

Charlotte Lucina Wallace was born to Joe A. and Caroline E. Wallace at York, Carroll county, Ill., on August 30, 1858. In 1873, the family moved to Thompson, Ill., where they resided until the fall of 1882, when they moved to Morrison, Grundy county, Iowa. During the last three years of their residence in Illinois, she taught in the country schools there, and on coming to Iowa she continued her teaching profession until 1904, when the family moved to Goldfield, where, on account of the ill1 health of her mother, she gave up her school work, and devoted her time to the care of her father and mother, and an aunt, Jane Wallace. The father passed away in 1914, the mother in 1915, and the aunt in 1917. Since that time she had lived alone in Goldfield until her demise.

She had been a devoted member of the Methodist church since her childhood, and was a member of the Rebekah lodge for many years.

She is survived by a brother, Charles W. Wallace of Clear Lake; three nephews, Will J. Wallace of Mason City, Harold Wallace of Belmond, Rae E. Wallace in military service and several grand-nephews and nieces.

Rites on Thursday for Charlotte Wallace, 84
EAGLE GROVE—Funeral services for Charlotte Lucina Wallace, 84, who died Monday at the Fisher home in Goldfield will be conducted at the Methodist church in Goldfield, Thursday, in charge of the Rev. Joy Smith. Burial will be made in Glenwood cemetery, Goldfield, The Rebekah lodge, of which she was a member, will have a part in the service. She is survived by a brother in Clear Lake. She lived in Goldfield and vicinity for 39 years. She was a member of the Methodist church.
