Obituary of Mrs. Julia Lenning
Julia Tollefson was born at Fjelberg, Sunnhordland, Norway, March 11th, 1875 and died in her home at Eagle Grove, Iowa Tuesday evening, August 17th, 1937, at the age of 62 years, 5 months and 6 days. She was baptized into Christ, received instruction and confessed her christian faith in her youth. In 1873 she came with her parents and family to U. S. A. to Hamilton county, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Tom B. Howe. Five children were born to this union, viz Minnie, Helma, Mabel, Theodore and Joseph. Mr. Howe died
here in Eagle Grove in 1904, and Mabel died in 1917.

Mrs. Howe was again married to Ole Lenning on the 8th day of August 1931. Mr. Lenning died December 6th, 1934. And she is now survived by the four children, viz Mrs. Minnie Hossman, Eagle Grove, Mrs Helma Jaehnal, Chicago, Ill., Theodore and Joseph Howe, both of Eagle Grove. And by six grandchildren, and by one sister, Mrs. Ed Robinson, Chicago, Ill., and by two brothers Tom Tollefson, of Grand Forks, N. D., and Isaac Tollefson of Eagle Grove.

Mrs. Lenning was a quiet character, a kind mother, and a friendly neighbor. For some time she suffered from heart illness. She appreciated very much to be ministered to with the gospel.

She passed away very suddenly Tuesday evening. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon August 20th, from the home at 2 o'clock and 2:30 from the
East Side Lutheran church. Burial was made in the Rose Hill cemetery.

Those from out of town who attended the funeral of Mrs. Julia Lenning were: Mr. and Mrs. Tom Tollefson and daughter Thelma and son Earl of Grand Forks, N. D., Mrs. Dan Tollefson of Warren, Minn. Mrs. Ed Robinson of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Jaehnel and son Jerry of West Chicago, Ill.
