Jean T. "Dode" LaRue was born on April 27, 1925, in Eagle Grove, Iowa, the daughter of Carl and Kathryn McFadden Baker. She was raised and educated in the area of her birth, graduating from Eagle Grove High School in 1943. She was a lifelong resident of Eagle Grove.

Jean T. LaRue died Sunday, November 7, 1999, at Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge, Iowa, at the age of 74.

She is survived by her husband, Harley; two sons, Alvin LaRue and his wife, Sheila, and Alan LaRue; three daughters, Bonnie Pauls and her husband, Doug, Barb and Bev LaRue; all of Eagle Grove; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Stan "Bud" Baker of Eagle Grove.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Owen; and one grandson, Douglas.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, November 11, 1999, at the Willim Funeral Home in Eagle Grove with the Reverend David Miller officiating. Burial was held in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove. The body was cremated.

Willim Funeral Home of Eagle Grove was in charge of the arrangements.
