Virginia Belle Sanford Griemes
10 April 1884 --- 6 December 1964

Funeral services for Mrs. Ed Griemes, 84, were held Wednesday afternoon at the Kastler Funeral Home. The Rev. Lyle Lieder officiated and burial was in Rose Hill cemetery. Mrs. Griemes is survived by two daughters and two sons, Mrs. Wayne Bernard of this city, Mrs. Beulah Buttz of Fort Dodge, Wm. Griemes of Des Moines and Verle who has been a patient in the Veterans hospital in Des Moines for a few weeks. Mrs. Griemes died Sunday night at the Morgan Nursing Home in Fonda.

The former Virginia Belle Sanford, she was born in Shelby county, Mo., and married Edward Griemes on Christmas, 1889. They made their home here where Mr. Griemes was a railroad employee. He died in 1957.

Other survivors are 10 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, and three sisters and four brothers, Mrs. Marie Peterson of Palmer, Mrs. Muriel Mickalek of San Jose, Calif., Mrs. Flossie Amdahl of Cedar Rapids, Victor Sanford of Washington state, William Sanford of California, Lee Sanford of Waterloo and Bennett Sanford of Fort Dodge.
