Eugenia Pattison Dies

Eugenia Pattison died in Des Moines Wednesday afternoon. Miss Pattison was a teacher in the Des Moines schools.

The funeral arrangements had not been made Wednesday evening. The body will be at the Wilson Funeral Home.

Eugenia Pattison Funeral Tuesday

Services will be Tuesday in Eagle Grove for M. Eugenia Pattison, 63, of 1066 Thirty-fifth st., former Des Moines school-teacher.

Miss Pattison died Wednesday at the Woodland Nursing home, 1607 Woodland ave. Born in Houston, Tex., Miss Pattison moved to Eagle Grove when she was a child, later coming to Des Moines in 1908. She taught in the Des Moines public schools from 1908 until 1941.

She attended Iowa State Teachers college in Cedar Falls and Columbia university in New York, N. Y. She was a member of Grace Methodist church and the Eastern Star.

Surviving are her mother, Mrs. Alice Pattison of Des Moines, and a brother, Lee Pattison of Claremont, Cal.

Former Resident Buried Here

Funeral services for Miss Eugenia Pattison, of Des Moines were held here Tuesday afternoon at Wilson's Chapel Rev. Harrison Dawes, pastor of the Methodist church officiated.

Burial was in the family lot in Rose Hill cemetery.

Miss Pattison died Wednesday, Feb. 2nd in a Des Moines nursing home following a long Illness, and prior to that time had been a teacher in the Des Moines schools for many years.

Miss Pattison is survived by her mother, Mrs. J. M. Pattison of Des Moines, and one brother, Lee Pattison, of Scripps college, Claremont, Calif. Her father, the late J. M. Pattison was a telegraph operator for the C. and N. W. railroad here around 40 years ago. After Mr. Pattison died, Mrs. Pattison and Eugenia moved to Des Moines. Mrs. Pattison, also in poor health, was not able to attend the services, and Lee Pattison came by plane Tuesday morning, returning immediately after the funeral.

C. V. McVicker is a relative of the Pattison family.
