Last Rites Held For William Waak
William A. Waak, 84, died Saturday at the home of his daughter, Miss Emma Waak on North Wright Avenue.
Mr. Waak had been a resident of Eagle Grove since 1951 when he retired from his farm near Goldfield. He is survived by his one daughter, his wife and son Fred having preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Wilson Funeral Chapel, in charge of Rev. Harrison G. Dawes.
Interment was in Rose Hill cemetery.

William August, son of Gotleib and Carrie Waak was born at Stetien, Germany on December 16, 1867, and passed away at the home of his daughter, Emma, on November 15, 1952. He was 84 years, 10 months and 29 days of age at the time of his passing.
At about 21 years of age he came to the United States where he worked on a farm near Green Valley, Illinois. On June 22, 1896 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Halfpap and to this union two children were born. In 1918 the family moved to Iowa, to near Meservey. After living there for some time they moved to Webster City, later to a farm near Goldfield and finally in March, 1941 they retired to their home in Eagle Grove on North Wright avenue. He was a member of the Methodist Church of Eagle Grove.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth and one son, Fred. Two sisters and one brother.
He leaves to mourn his passing his only daughter, Emma Kathryn, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Mr. Waak, was a kind and loving father. His cheery smile and friendly disposition will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 18, 1952 at the Wilson Funeral Chapel, Eagle Grove, Iowa. Rev. Harrison G. Dawes officiated.
Interment was held on the family lot in Rose Hill cemetery, Eagle Grove, Iowa.
