Dena Julliett Minor Johnson
February 14, 1908 --- May 14, 1987

Dena Juliett Minor was born February 14, 1908, near Kanawha, Iowa, the daughter of Ormal and Julia Shurson Minor. She was educated in the Kanawha schools. Dena was united in marriage to Oscar L. Johnson of Dows, Iowa, in September, 1927 at Dows. The couple farmed in several places in Iowa before moving to Eagle Grove. She was a faithful member of the Church of the Open Bible in Eagle Grove serving as a Deaconess and was a member of the Dorcas Circle. For several years she was associated with her mother, Julia Minor, in the Minor Nursing Home in Eagle Grove.

Dena Minor entered Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge, Iowa on May 4, and died May 14, 1987 at the age of 79 years and three months. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Joseph Minor, Gaylord Minor and Charles Minor and
one sister. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Ray (Myrna) Baker, Sioux City, Mrs. John (Doretta) VanNimwegen, Des Moines; Mrs. Richard (Delores) Umstead of Eagle Grove, one brother, Orville Minor of Marshalltown; four sisters, Luella Hughes, Kanawha, Mrs. Carolle (Gladys) Spoon, Lucas, Mrs. Joe (Myrtle) Thielen, Eagle Grove, Mrs. Bob (Ramona) Brooks, Des Moines; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 16, 1987 at the Church of the Open Bible, Eagle Grove with Dr. Lloyd W. Meyer officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove.
