May 16, 1864 --- November 13, 1943

William Braumann, Jr. son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Braumann was born in New York City, May 18, 1864 and passed away in Minneapolis, Minnesota in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Hjalmar Magnuson at 8:25 a.m. Saturday, November 13, 1943 at the age of 79 years, 5 months and 28 days. He came to Illinois when a small boy and was united in marriage to Eva Jones of DeKalb, Illinois on September 2, 1891. To this union 6 children were born: William, Mable, Walter, Howard, Floyd and Frances. The Braumann family moved to Iowa in 1869 and bought a farm in Humboldt county near Thor. Beginning in 1917 Mr. Braumann carried on a tire and auto accessory business in Eagle Grove and in 1920 moved the family to this city while the son, Floyd, took over the management of the farm. He retired from business in 1935 and lived for a number of years with his son, Walter of Eagle Grove, but more recently has been with his daughter, Mrs. Magnuson of Minneapolis.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mable, who passed away in infancy, his wife who died on March 29, 1937, and son, William, who passed away on November 22, 1938. Mr. Braumann is survived by four children: Mrs. Hjalmar Magnuson of Minneapolis, Minn., Walter, of Tucson, Ariz., Floyd of Eagle Grove, and Howard of Minneapolis, Minn., beside a number of grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
