Lewis Thomas Lilleskau, 80, died at the Sisson Nursing Home, Humboldt Tuesday morning, April 16. Funeral services were held at Kastler Funeral Home Saturday at 2, Pastor Torvik officiating. Interment followed at Rose Hill Cemetery.

Lewis Lilleskau was born Aug. 22, 1882 to Jacob and Leva Stockdale Lilleskau on a farm near Eagle Grove. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He received his early education in the rural school near their home in Wright County and later graduated from Valder Business College in Decorah. Following graduation, he was employed in a bank in Des Moines.

In 1908 he was united in marriage to Miss Olga Oldson of this city. They lived first on a farm 1 mile north of Vincent, later settled on the farm previously owned by Mr. Lilleskau's parents near Nuel where they and their three children lived until in 1923 when they moved to Eagle Grove where they operated a dairy. In 1934 they moved to Dows. Mrs. Lilleskau preceded him in death in 1949. He remained on the farm and four years later was married to Mrs. Gena Hokel of Minnesota, who died two years later. In 1956 he married Mrs. Nora Lustig of Dows. They became active in work for the church and soon were going to Edinburg, Tex. each winter to assist with work at the Rio Grande Bible School there. After Nora's death in 1958 he continued to go to Texas in the winter to work with the Mexican people in his school. A year ago he spent much time working in the mission field in Old Mexico and had planned to go to Guatemala this past winter but could not on account of ill health. While in Edinburg he joined the Gideon International Society and worked with them as opportunities arose. He dearly loved the Mexican people and doing Christian work among them.

He is survived by his three children: Mildred, Mrs. Cecil Griffith of Eagle Grove; Leone, Mrs. Russell Gorton, Los Angeles, and Norris of Mason City; six grandchildren and four sisters.
