Mrs; Gertrude Lutz Dies In Ambulance Enroute To Hospital

Mrs. Gertrude Lutz, 78, died unexpectedly Saturday after a short illness.

Mrs. Lutz called her daughter Mrs. Robert Kallem Saturday morning and told her she was not feeling well, and when Mrs. Kallem went to her mother's home, it was decided to move her to a Fort Dodge hospital for a check-up. She died suddenly enroute to Fort Dodge in the ambulance.

Mrs. Lutz is survived by her daughter Violet, Mrs. Robert Kallem, and two sons, Clifford Lutz of Ohio, Ill., and Delbert Lutz of Lubbock, Tex. Other survivors are three grand sons, two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the First Methodist church with Rev. Lyle Lieder officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.

Mrs. Lutz was a member of the First Methodist church, V.F.W. Auxiliary and Rebekah Lodge.

Obituary

Gertrude Iva McCray Lutz was born August 30, 1884 at La Moille, Ill., to the parents, Joseph and Sarah Jane McCray. She died January 19, 1963 at Eagle Grove at the age of 78. She was the youngest of the family of 12 children, four of whom are still living.

She was united in marriage with William R. Lutz of Woolstock, Iowa, on September 30, 1916 at Fort Dodge, Iowa. To this union four children were born. The three surviving her are Clifford W. Lutz of Ohio, Ill., Mrs. Robert Kallem (Violet G.) of Eagle Grove, and Delbert C. Lutz of Lubbock, Texas. The fourth, a son, Allen Morrell died in infancy on January 1, 1930.

She was preceded in death by her husband who died in March of 1951. Also preceding her were her parents and seven brothers and sisters. Beside her three children, survivors are three grandsons, Dale Lutz of Ohio, Ill.; William Owen Lutz of Lubbock, Texas, and Ronald Kallem of Eagle Grove. Also two brothers and two sisters Frank McCray of La Moille, Ill., Scott McCray of Rochelle, Ill., Hannah Craft of Kinsley, Kans., and Delsena MacDonald of Princeton, Ill.

She was a faithful and active member of the First Methodist church in Eagle Grove. She was also a member of the V. F. W. Ladies Auxiliary and Rebekah Lodge.

Her sincere and loving personality will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
