Marlena Gay Jones, 73, passed away June 22, 2012 at Clare Bridge Alzheimer's Care Facility in Olympia. She was born November 24, 1938 in Hamilton County, Iowa to Edward C. Peterson and Leva G. Lamfers. As a young woman she worked as an American Airlines flight attendant, later working as an office assistant, with her last position as a legal secretary at Microsoft. She was an avid animal lover who took care of many pets over the years. Marlena is survived by her son Wayne C. (Kathleen) Jones of Lacey and nine grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Brian K. Jones, brother James H. Peterson, and dear aunt Anna Jane Beirne. A private committal of ashes will be held in San Francisco Bay.
