Earl Evan Benton, 66, died early Wednesday morning at Mercy hospital, Fort Dodge where he had been a patient for seven days. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Evan and Myron; three daughters, Mrs. Merna Hamm, Mrs. Leo Russell of Eagle Grove
and Mrs. Linda Lou Crone of La Punte, Calif., also one brother, Thomas Benton of Bloomington, Ill.Funeral services are pending at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home. Mr. Benton, was born in McClean, Ill., and moved to Dows area in 1913, where he farmed. He was married to Nellie Paulson of Webster City in 1926 and they lived in Dows, before moving here 21 years ago. Mr. Benson was employed in the freight office of the Chicago and North Western R. R. and later was employed in the post office at Sioux City. He retired in 1965 and he and Mrs. Benton moved back here in 1965. He was a member of the Methodist church; the Brotherhood of Railroad and Steamship Clerks and the Veterans

W. Paulson of Cedar Rapids.
