Merry Jo Dencklau, 84, of Fort Dodge, Iowa passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at Trinity Regional Medical Center. A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at Gunderson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Monday, July 1, 2019 at Gunderson’s. Burial at Colfax Cemetery [Vincent, Iowa].

Merry Jo Dencklau, the daughter of Audrey “Joe” and Mary (Roest) Crotts, was born on December 14, 1934 in Iowa City, IA. Merry Jo was united in marriage to Gerald Dencklau on May 10, 1958 in Blue Earth, Minnesota. Merry Jo was a member of the Ladies of Moose. She also liked to work with puzzles. Merry Jo was a loving grandmother, mother, and wife. She loved to spend time with family.

Merry Jo is survived by her husband, Gerald Dencklau; her daughter, Jean Babb; her sons, Gerald Wayne (Maria) Dencklau, Kevin Dencklau, Rodney “Rod” (Marcia) Dencklau, and Patrick “Pat” Dencklau; her sister, Sally Coture; and her 8 grandchildren. Merry Jo was preceded in death by her parents, Audrey “Joe” and Mary (Roest) Crotts; her sister, Barbara Sanqwin; and her brothers, Melvin Crotts and Fred Crotts.

Memorials may be left at the discretion of the family.
