May 1, 1895 --- July 26, 1969

Bert Kvale, son of Bjorn and Berntine Salhus Kvale, was born on May 1, 1895 at Haugesund, Norway. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith in Norway.

In 1913 he, with his brother, Sigvart, came to the United States and settled near Holmes, Iowa. When World War I came, he served his country overseas in the United States Army. He never married and after his army service, he went to Chicago, Ill., where he has since made his home.

On July 26, 1969, at the Lutheran Hospital, Fort Dodge, he entered into Eternal Rest. He was 74 years, 2 months and 25 days of age at the time of his passing.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

He leaves to mourn his passing 3 brothers: Sigvart Kvale, Eagle Grove, Anton Kvale, Chicago, Ill.; and Adolph Kvale, Youngstown, Ariz.; also 3 sisters, Mrs. Signe Satta of Engle Grove, Mrs. Gunhild Johnson, Tulsa, Okla. and Mrs. Sigrun Hussebo of Norway.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, July 29, at two p.m. at the Wilson Funeral Home. Rev. A. E. Windahl officiated. Interment was held on the family lot in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
