April 16, 1898 --- June 11, 1976

Mrs. Selma Kvale, 78, died Friday at her home, 611 N.W. 4th Street, following a long illness.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Hauge Lutheran Church with the pastor, Al Storry, in charge. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Kvale Is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Gudmund Aukland, of Eagle Grove, three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Obituary

Selma Margaret Askvig was born April 16, 1898, at Sycamore, Ill., the daughter of Jacob and Annie Tysdal Askvig.

She received her education in the Sycamore public school, after which, she moved to Iowa.

She was united in marriage to Sigvart Kvale of Thor, on October 10, 1917, at Eagle Grove. The couple farmed for 36 years north of Eagle Grove, and 4 years south of Goldfield.

They retired, and moved to Eagle Grove in 1962. Mr. Kvale died in 1970.

Mrs, Kvale continued to maintain the family home and was living there at the time of her death on Friday, June 11, at the age of 78 years, 1 month, and 25 days. She had been in ill health for sometime before her death.

She is survived by one daughter, Alice, Mrs. Gudmund Aukland of Eagle Grove; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three sisters.

Mrs. Kvale was a member of the Hauge Lutheran Church, Goldfield.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 14, at the Hauge Lutheran Church, Goldfield, with the Rev. Al Storry officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
