Dr. R. McGrath died at Lakeville, Conn.

Word has been received here of the death of Dr. Robert McGrath, 77, of Belgo Road, Lakeville, Conn., who dies suddenly on Tuesday, Jan. 13.

Dr. McGrath was born in Eagle Grove, Iowa, on Feb. 19, 1903, the son of William Cyrus McGrath and Blanche [Fort] McGrath.

He was a graduate of Northwestern University in 1924 and of Northwestern Medical School, Chicago, Ill., in 1929 where he received his M.D.

Dr. McGrath interned at St. Luke's hospital, Chicago, from 1929 to 1930, was assistant resident physician at Peter Bent Brigham Hospital, Boston, from 1930 to 1931, and was resident physician, New York Post-Graduate Hospital, New York City, from 1933 to 1934. He practiced medicine in New York City with offices at The Medical Chambers, as an internist and cardiologist from 1934 to 1965, the time of his retirement.

At his retirement, Dr. McGrath was visiting physician at Bellevue Hospital, New York City, associate attending physician, University Hospital, New York City and associate clinical professor of medicine, New York University School of Medicine, Post Graduate Division, Cardiology.

Dr. McGrath was a member of the American Heart Association and a Fellow of The American College of Physicians. He was a member of the United Church of Christ, Eagle Grove.

Dr. McGrath is survived by his wife, Beatrice [Jeffrey] McGrath of Lakeville, Conn., and a cousin, Everett McGrath of Eagle Grove.

Memorial rites will be held here later this spring.
