Rites Held For Long Time Resident

Mrs. Henry Broffle died at her home in Eagle Grove, Saturday, August 3, at the age of 85 years, 4 months and 12 days.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon in the Methodist church, in charge of Rev. J. A. Farnham, pastor of the Methodist church in Webster City. Interment was in Rose Hill cemetery.

Mrs. Broffle was born March 22, 1861, in Floris, Davis county; Iowa, and has lived in Wright county 62 years.

In 1904 she was married to Henry Broffle, who passed away January 31 [22], 1931. Her former marriages were to Andrew Stomm and Ulric [Ulick] Nelson.

Mrs. Broffle had seven children, three of whom preceded her in death, namely: Elmer Stomm, Daisy Mosher, and Frank Nelson. There remains to mourn their loss, two sons, Oscar Nelson and Roy Nelson and two daughters, Mrs. Guy Fisher and Mrs. Stella Pohlman. She is also survived by 29 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Dave Watt, and one brother, George Gordon, both of Ottumwa.
