Presli Roxanne Peterson was born June 9, 2004 in Sioux Falls, SD. She was a blessing to her friends and family for 15 wonderful years.
Presli fell in love with learning and a sweet little boy named Ben at Peace Lutheran Preschool where she had her first of many loving teachers. She then attended Pettigrew Elementary from Kindergarten through 5th grade where her interest in music started to blossom. She continued singing in the chorus and playing the trombone throughout her time at Memorial Middle School. One of her many academic achievements included being on the MMS Honor Roll all three years, even though in the 6th grade her dislike for running and sweating led to her first and only “F” on an assignment in her academic career. She completed her freshman year at New Technology High School where she continued her academic excellence, gained many new friends, and truly came out of her shell.
Presli loved to spend hours reading everywhere she went. She was also an avid Harry Potter fan and a master of Minecraft where she spent countless hours creating and destroying in her worlds. She loved dolls, from Barbies to Monster High, including designing and making custom outfits and performing “plastic surgery” on them. Presli’s sketchbook was a prized possession, as were her many stuffed animals that crowded her bed. Her love for animals—specifically her four cats Mackie, Missy, Princess, and Meatball—brought her so much joy.
Presli adored her parents, idolized her big brother, and her big sister was her best friend. She loved to entertain her family with corny jokes including many “dad jokes”. She loved to travel and explore with her mom and loved going to the movies with her dad. She enjoyed playing Xbox and board games with her brother and sister. Presli was known as the best hugger in the family and those hugs will be sorely missed.
She will be most dearly missed by her parents Paige and Roy; brother Reed (Becky); sister Peri; grandparents Roland and Joanne Pohlman; Uncle Rik (Andrea) Pohlman; Aunt Patti LaSourd; Uncle Pat LaSourd; Uncle and godfather Reynold (Kim) Peterson; cousins Ann Marie, Lincoln, Riley Courtney, Caitlyn (Kyle) and Chloe; her four-legged friends Mackie, Missy, Princess, Meatball, and Rita. She was preceded in death by her Grammy Ella Peterson.
