Mrs. Boughton Dies in City

Mrs. Willard Boughton, 78, died at 4:10 p.m. Wednesday at the Hamilton county hospital. She had been in failing health for several months.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Foster funeral home with the Rev. Marvin Suhr officiating. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery.

Carrie Ludwickson, daughter of Ole and Christine Ludwickson, was born Feb. 10, 1872, in Norway. When she was six years old, her family headed for the United States. Her only sister died on the trip across and was buried at sea. The family located on a farm in Benton county near Vinton, Iowa. They resided there about five years, then moved to a farm in Webster county near Duncombe.

She was reared and educated in that community. After her schooling, she was employed in Webster City. She was married here June 21, 1903, to Willard Boughton, and Webster City had been her home ever since.

Mrs. Boughton is survived by her husband, two half-sisters, Miss Christine Ludwickson of this city and Miss Martha Ludwickson of Cherokee; two nieces, Mrs. Helen Wahman, of Stratford and Mrs. Cleo Coons of this city and by one cousin, Mrs. Ray Ralston of Eagle Grove. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and two brothers. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith.

Mrs. Boughton was known as a kind and neighborly woman, always interested in the welfare of others. Her home, family and friends were her main interests in life.
