Eagle Grove Man Takes Own Life; Found Thursday Morning

Coroner H. P. Walker was called to Eagle Grove Thursday morning where he investigated the suicide of John McCombs [McComb], about 65 [74], who had hanged himself in his home in the south part of town. Mr. McCombs [McComb], who has been living alone, left a note disposing of his personal property and indicating that lonesomeness, had caused his action.

The death was discovered by the Eagle Grove chief of police when a milkman observed that his delivery of milk of Wednesday morning had not been taken into the house and reported the fact. The officer found the doors of the house locked and upon gaining entrance through a window he found the deceased hanging from a bannister. Death had apparently been due to strangulation.

Mr. McCombs [McComb], a widower, is reported to be survived by a son and daughter, neither of whom live at Eagle Grove at the present time. Services had not been arranged.
