Mrs. Bertha Johanneson Kvamme Rolland, born December 21, 1871 at Arne, Bergen, Norway, died Saturday, September 16, 1950, at Ebenezer Home for the Aged, Minneapolis, Minn. In 1897 she married Bert Rolland. In 1903 she followed her husband to America where they settled in Eagle Grove.

Her sister Petra, who had married Andrew Rolland, a brother of her husband, preceded her in death Dec. 16, 1943, as also did her husband on Nov. 19, 1932.

On April 12, 1950, she was admitted as a resident at Ebenezer Home after a residence of 48 years in Eagle Grove, in all of which time she was a faithful member of Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran church.

Funeral services were held in the local church Wednesday, September 20 with sermon by Pastor Torvik and musical selections by the choir. Pallbearers were former neighbors: Nellard Christenson, Peter Hovland, Ben Larson, Hiram Midland, Arthur Rice and Otis Thorn, with interment at Rose Hill cemetery.

Closest surviving relatives are a niece, Mrs. Carl G. Baker, Eagle Grove, and two nephews, Burdette of Eagle Grove and Arthur of Rockford, Ill.

Mrs. Bertha Holland, 78, died Saturday in Minneapolis, where she had been residing for a few months. Mrs. Rolland went to Minneapolis in April to make her home at the Ebenezer Home for The Aged.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Evangelical Lutheran church, in charge of Rev. K. R. Torvik. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.

Mrs. Rolland is survived by a niece, Mrs. Carl G. Baker, and two nephews, Burdette Rolland of Eagle Grove, and Arthur Rolland of Rockford, Ill.
