Marie Christina Norgaard, the daughter of Martin and Marie (Andersen) Bottker, was born April 17, 1900 in Arnum, Denmark. Her early years were spent in Denmark, and it was there she received her education. In 1923 she came to America, making her home in Iowa. Christine was married to Hans Peter Norgaard on May 18, 1924, in Rowan, Iowa. Following their marriage, they farmed in the Coulter, Iowa area for 5 years before moving to the Spencer community. They farmed in this area for a number of years before moving into Spencer in 1955. Christine was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, having belonged to the Trinity Pioneers, the Trinity L.C.W. and Dorcas Circle.

Mrs. Norgaard passed away at her home [in Spencer, Iowa] on March 6, 1984, at the age of 83 years 10 months and 19 days. She was preceded in death by her parents; 1 son, Dale Leroy; 3 great grandchildren; and 1 brother Hans Bottker. Christina was survived by her husband; 2 sons and their wives: Earl and Phyllis of Dickens, Alvin and Donna of Spencer and Fern and Harold Sembach of Spencer. Alan Norgaard of Des Moines, (a grandson whom they raised since he was 5 months old). 15 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 1 brother, Peter Bottker of Denmark, 2 sisters: Johanna Fogh and Mie Slot, both of Denmark and other relatives and friends.
