March 22, 1872 --- April 19, 1950

Mrs. A. J. Baldner died suddenly last Wednesday afternoon in an ambulance enroute to a Fort Dodge hospital.

Mrs. Baldner was in attendance at a meeting of the L. A. to the B. of L. F. and E. in the home of Mrs. James Ralston when she was stricken with a severe heart attack. A doctor was called and he advised that she be taken to the hospital at once. Death came shortly after the ambulance had left Eagle Grove city limits.

Mrs. Baldner is survived by two sons, Ray Baldner of Evanston, Ill., and Russell France of Goldfield; four sisters, Mrs. Bert Fisher and Mrs. Henry Donly of this city, Mrs. George Klaas of Peterson and Mrs. Roy Frasier of Rice Lake, Wisc., and one brother, Richard France of Chicago, Ill., also a grandson M-Sgt. Dick Baldner now stationed at Biloxi, Miss., and other grandchildren.

Tentative plans for the funeral have been set for Saturday afternoon, in the Methodist church. Friends interested in the funeral plans may call the Kastler Funeral Home.

Hattie France Baldner was born at Neenah, Wisconsin March 22, 1872, the daughter of Richard and Laura France. When still a child, she came to Iowa with her parents and lived on a farm southeast of Eagle Grove.

She was united in marriage to Andrew J. Baldner in February 1889. To this union was born one child, Ray D. Baldner, now of Evanston, Illinois.

Mrs. Baldner was a member of the Methodist church; a member of the Eastern Star, having served as secretary of that organization for fourteen years; a member of the Firemans Ladles Order for fifty years, having received her fifty year pin the first of this year; she was also a member of the Engineer Ladies Order.

She was preceeded in death by her husband, Andrew J. Baldner, her parents, and one sister, Eleanor Pringle.

She leaves to mourn her passing: Ray Baldner and Russell France; four sisters: Mrs. Alma Klaas, Chicago, Ill.; Mrs. Burt Fisher, Eagle Grove, Iowa; Mrs. Henry Donly, Eagle Grove, Iowa; Mrs. Jessie Frasier, Rice Lake, Wisconsin; and one brother Richard France, Chicago, Illinois. Also five grandchildren: M. Sgt. Richard Baldner, Raymond Baldner, Barbara Baldner, Gale France and Nancy France.

Mrs. Baldner was stricken with a heart attack very suddenly Wednesday afternoon and passed away very quietly shortly afterward.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon in the Methodist church. Rev. Harrison G. Dawes was in charge, and burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.

Among the out-of-town relatives here for the funeral were, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Baldner and family of Evanston, Ill.; M. Sgt. Richard Baldner, Biloxi, Miss., Mrs. Jesse Frasier and Mr. and Mrs. LuVerne Norwick of Rice Lake, Wis., and Mrs. Ivan Anderson of Boone.
