July 21, 1909 --- July 7, 1975

CLEAR LAKE - J. Marvin Franzen, 65, 3648 N. Shore Drive, Clear Lake, died Sunday morning at his home of a heart attack. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at the Ward-Van Slyke Funeral Home, Clear Lake. The Rev. Murley A. Severtson of Zion Lutheran Church, Clear Lake, will officiate. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City, with graveside military rites by the Clear Lake VFW's Saratoga Post 4868. Visitation is at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Mr. Franzen, a retired sales tax field auditor for the state of Iowa, is survived by his mother, Eva Franzen, Boone; his wife, Charlene; five daughters, Mrs. Daniel (Sharen) Roenfanz, Ventura, and Dianne Tarr, Laura Jane, Lisa and Jamie Lynn Franzen, all at home, and one grandchild.
