Funeral services for Mrs. Amy France were held Tuesday afternoon at the Evangelical Lutheran church in charge of Rev. H. W. Schiller.

Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. France died early Sunday morning at the Rotary Ann Home where she had been a resident for several years.

Mrs. France had lived in Eagle Grove as a young girl, but after her marriage to David France, lived in Chicago until his death in 1939. She later returned to Eagle Grove to make her home with her brother, Nellard Christenson, an employee at the Eagle Grove Eagle and after his death continued to reside here.

She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Harold Lindstrom, of Clarion.

Obituary

Amy Bertha [Beatrice] Christenson was born in Jewell, Iowa on August 16, 1892 to Nels and Eva Larson Christenson. In accordance to God's command her mother and father presented her to the Lord in holy baptism on October 16, 1892 in Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church, Rev. O. R. Farseth officiating. On October 28, 1906 she renewed her baptismal covenant through the rite of confirmation, Rev. O. R. Sletten officiating. She died at Rotary Ann Home in Eagle Grove on August 20, 1972 after reaching the age of 80 years and 4 days.

Amy received her education in the Eagle Grove schools. On May 30, 1914 she married David C. France of Chicago where they made their home until her husband's death in 1939. She has resided in Eagle Grove since 1950. Amy had been in failing health for the past six years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 5 brothers and 3 sisters.

She is survived by one sister, Bessie (Mrs. Harold Lindstrom), Clarion.

Funeral services were held in Evangelical Lutheran Church on August 22, 1972 at 2:00 p.m. Interment in Rose Hill Cemetery.
