Ole Morstad, World War I Veteran Dies

HARTLAND --- Ole Theodore Morstad, 72, a veteran of World War I and a retired farmer, died of a heart attack at 11:40 a.m. Thursday while he was at the home of his son, Orvin.

A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. T. G. Morstad, he was born December 7, 1893, at Rose Creek. He had lived at Belmond, Iowa and in the New Richland and Hartland vicinity 44 years.

He had attended schools in Iowa and the K. C. Sweeny Mechanical School in Kansas. He was a member of Hartland Lutheran church and also a member of Lundberg-No. 266.

Mr. Morstad and Alma Johnson were married November 16, 1920 at Goodell, Iowa. She survives him. Other survivors are a son, Orvin of Hartland, Two daughters, Mrs. John (Arlene) Severson of Hartland
Janice Morstad of Albert Lea; One brother, Gust Morstad of Rose Creek; Two sisters, Mrs. Kenneth (Alma) Hovey of Hayfield; Mrs. Arthur (Melissa) Bisbee of Tooterville, Iowa; Five grandchildren.
Three sisters and two brothers had preceded him in death.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Hartland Lutheran church. Interment will be in the Hartland cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by Post No. 266.
