Joe Ziller Dies in Belmond, Iowa
Relatives here have received word of the death of Joe Ziller, 62, of Belmond, Iowa.
Mr. Ziller was born February 28, 1905 [1902] in Germany. He came to Nebraska as a young man and made his home with an uncle, Mr. and Mrs. August Ziller. He was employed on the Leonard Bahensky farm.
In 1929 Mr. Ziller and Miss Mary Zuehlke were married in St. Libory. They farmed in the Gage Valley area prior to moving to a farm near Belmond. He had retired and moved to Belmond in recent years.
Besides his wife Mary, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Alan Elthon of Fertile, Ia., two sons, Lou in the service, stationed in New Jersey and Lawrence at Belmond, an uncle, August Ziller of St. Paul and 9 grandchildren.
Relatives leaving Monday to attend services Tuesday were Ed, George and Miss Cecila Zuehlke, Mrs. Alfred Schubert, Mrs. Adolph Baasch, Grand Island; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Tracy, Chapman; Mrs. Ervin Lilienthal, Wood River; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Ziller, St. Libory and August Ziller of St. Paul.

Joseph Ziller, 62, died Saturday at Belmond Community Hospital. The son of Johannes and Mathilda Ziller, he was born in Germany Feb 1905, He was married to Mary Zuehlke in Nebraska Feb. 12, 1929. Surviving are his wife, two sons, Lawrence, Belmond; Lew, with the U.S. Army; a daughter, Mrs. Allen (Evelyn) Elthon, Fertile; two sisters and three brothers in Germany and nine grandchildren.The Rosary will be recited Monday at 8 p.m. at Fulton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday at St. Francis Church in Belmond. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery.
