Died at Chico, California, April 21, 1896, Robert Carr Kyte, aged 66 years and 20 days.

The deceased was born in Decker Town, Sussex county, New Jersey. In 1858 he left his childhood home and settled in Wisconsin, where he married Miss Sarah E. Owen, who was the companion of his struggles through life, and still survives him. From Wisconsin he moved to Iowa and settled at Eagle Grove, where he lived with his family for twenty years.

About seven years ago his health began to fail and he decided to seek the mild climate of California. About one year ago he reached Chico with his wife and son, Cuyler, who was suffering with the dread disease, consumption, and who died just three months ago.

Here, after seven years of struggle with disease, the father’s eyes were closed in death. He passed away in peace, trust and triumph. He was a member of the M. E. Church and while he was a man of few words and quiet disposition, he gave evidence that he was ready to join the church triumphantly. He leaves a devoted wife, one son and two grandchildren in Chico; four brothers and two sisters in New Jersey to mourn his death.

The funeral took place form the residence in Chico. A number of sympathizing friends were present. Remarks were made by Rev. J. K. Jeness of the M. E. Church. Prayer was offered by Rev. T. H. Stephens.

DEATH OF MR. KYTE
It was with feelings of sorrow that the people of Eagle Grove learned last Thursday morning that Robert C. Kyte was dead, following so soon his son Cuyler to the "better land." Mr. Kyte was so well known in this city, and of such a social, genial disposition, that he made many friends. We clip the following obituary from the Chico (Cal.)
Chronicle-Record in relation to Mr. Kyte's death:
