May 23, 1900 --- April 14, 1983

Elsie Marie Flower, the daughter of Andrew and Thora Johnson Hansen was born on May 23, 1900 at Racine, Wisc. She received her education in the Racine schools and then taught school in the Racine area. She was united in marriage with William Larson of Irvington, Iowa, on Jan. 22, 1922 at Raymond Center, Wisc. The couple farmed in the Corwith, Iowa area until the death of Mr. Larson in 1940. Mrs. Larson and her family moved to Eagle Grove in 1941. She was married to Walter Flower of Eagle Grove in 1944 at Blue Earth, Minn. Mr. Flower died in 1975. Elsie continued to live at 501 SW 2nd St. in Eagle Grove until April 4, 1983, when she entered the Clarion Care Center, where she died on Thursday, April 14, 1983, at the age of 82 years, 10 months and 21 days.

She is survived by three sons, Floyd Larsen of Glen Ellyn, Ill.; Robert Larsen of Eagle Grove; and Lewis Larsen of Eagle Grove; two daughters, Norma, Mrs. Charles Ingalls of Bancroft, Iowa; Joyce, Mrs. Dwight Bisbey of Mason City; 20 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five brothers, Carl Hansen of Buffalo, N.Y.; Andrew Hansen of Union Grove, Wisc.; Peter Hansen of Duarte, Calif.; six sisters, Violet Schacht of Milwaukee, Wisc.; Eleanor Willie of Butterfield, Minn.; Katherine, Mrs. Marc Moore of Algona; Rosa Bulling of Duarte, Calif.; Mata White of Milwaukee, Wisc.; Little Murphy of Milwaukee, Wisc.; and other-relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, and a brother, Walter Hansen.

Funeral services for Mrs. Elsie Larson Flower were held on Monday, April 18, 1983 at 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove. Rev. Donald Callen officiated and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Visitation was held on Sunday at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home.
