Sondra Kay Peterson, 76, of Forest City, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2019, at the Good Samaritan Society in Forest City.

Sondra, a daughter of Roland and Clara Peterson, was born on October 2, 1942, in Goodell. She attended country school near Meservey and graduated from North Central Manly High School. She worked in the dietary department at Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa in Mason City until she retired. Then, she moved from Mason City to Forest City. In July of 2014, she became a resident of the Good Samaritan Society. She enjoyed crocheting, working puzzle books, and watching TV.

Sondra is survived by her siblings, Karna Mae Janssen, of Belmond, and Melvin, Dennis, Duane, Laura, and Leon Peterson, all of Forest City; two sisters-in-law, Jill Peterson, of Marseille, Illinois, and Lynn Peterson, of Missouri; and a brother-in-law, Gene Stenersen, of Lake Mills; as well as by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, and numerous extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; five siblings, Shirley Stenersen and Roland C., Lauren, Merlin, and Delwyn Peterson; two nieces; and a nephew.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, June 1, 2019, at 2:00 P.M. at the Education Center, 325 West 8th Street, Garner, Iowa. Burial of cremains will follow at a later date.
