Funeral services were conducted for Thomas F. Borwey, 52, on Saturday, October 3 at Amaranth Temple in Mojave, California, with services conducted by officers of Masonic Lodges No. 783 and 822. Interment followed at East Kern Cemetery, Mojave.

Borwey was born May 30, 1929 in Eagle Grove, son of S. Benjamin (Ben) and Lillian Borwey, graduated from Eagle Grove High School with the Class of 1947, and graduated from the then Iowa State College, Ames, as a Chemical Engineer. He died October 1 at a Tehachapi, California hospital where he had been taken earlier in the day.

Mr. Borwey was employed by Cal-Portland Cement Company as Plant Chemist and lived in Mojave for the twenty-six years he was employed there.

He was a registered Professional Engineer, a member of Masonic Lodge No. 783 and the Mojave Lions Club. He had served in the Army during the Korean War.

Borwey is survived by his wife, Jean; three daughters, Cynthia Mason, Deborah Livesay and Barbara Borwey, all of Mojave; one brother, John Borwey of Fort Dodge, Iowa; and two grandchildren.

Stickel Mortuary of Mojave handled the arrangements.
