Mrs. E. P. Riley Died Wednesday

Mrs. E. P. Riley died at Clarion Wednesday evening at 6:25 o’clock, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Chas. Reeder. Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 9 o’clock at Sacred Heart church, Eagle Grove.

Death Comes to Mrs. E.P. Riley

Mrs. E. P. Riley, 71, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Chas. M. Reeder in Clarion, Wednesday night, Dec. 19, at 6:15, after being confined to her bed for almost three months, but had been in failing health for the past three years. Mrs. Riley submitted to an operation in May, 1932, at Rochester, Minn, for cancer, the operation proving no help to her.

Funeral services were held from Sacred Heart church at 10 o'clock Friday morning, conducted by the Rev. Father Molloy. Interment took place at the Calvary cemetery at Eagle Grove, beside the one whom she long to be with, her husband E. P. Riley, who passed away with the same dreaded disease on Jan. 8. 1932.

Ella M. Brennan Riley was born in Milford, Penn., and passed to the great beyond, Dec. 19, 1934. On July 4, 1880, at Lincoln Neb., occurred her marriage to Edward P. Riley and to this union was born four children, all living as follows: Mrs. Emma Bradford, Eagle Grove, Mrs. Nellie Laws, Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Mae Reeder, Clarion and E. J. Riley, Lincoln, Neb., besides one sister, Mrs. Will Maasdam of Bradgate, Iowa. After their marriage they purchased a farm in Lincoln township, Wright county, and lived there about four years, when they came to Eagle Grove and lived in the same place continuously for more than 50 years. Mrs. Riley was a woman who loved her children and lived for them. She was a woman of sterling qualities, of a happy disposition, and a sympathetic nature. She leaves a host of friends and loved ones. She leaves eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren whom she loved.

After the death of Mr. Riley, she made her home with her daughter, Mrs. C. M. Reeder in Clarion.

Those who attended the funeral were as follows: Mr. and Mrs. Mack Laws and L. M. Mathews of Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Will Maasdam of Bradgate; Mr. and Mrs. George Henely and family of Algona; Mrs. Fred Johnson, Mrs. Jewell Kinder and daughter, Donna Lee and R. E. Bradford of Omaha, Neb., and Mrs. Geo. Sower, Chicago. —Contributed.
