December 11, 1849 --- July 15, 1908The funeral of Mrs. Range, mother of Mrs. Harry Brown, took place in this city last Friday her death having been due to cancer, for which she was operated on at Rochester, but was unable to withstand the shock. Mrs. Range's home was at Rake. She was a native of Germany and was fifty-nine years old at the time of her death. Interment was made in Rose Hill cemetery, Rev. Chapler having charge of the services.

[Ida Edith Martfeldt was born December 11, 1849 in Germany She died July 15, 1908, in rural Faribault county, Minnesota very close to the Iowa border and the town of Rake, Winnebago, Iowa. Her death certificate is recorded in Minnesota. Her Father is listed as Frederick Mertfeld on the death certificate and the attending physician was Dr. J. E. Russ of Rake, Iowa. She married Lewis Range on January 25, 1871 in Hamilton County, Iowa. She and Lewis are buried in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove, Iowa.]
