February 10, 1956 --- June 13, 2019
Gregory Allen Trask, the son of Glenn and Margery (Schnell) Trask, was born February 10, 1956 in Fort Dodge, IA. He graduated from Waukee High School in 1974.
Greg will always be remembered for his love for family, friends, horses, and fast cars. Greg learned what hard work was in his early years by riding his bike to the Trask Farm and working side by side with his grandfather Lorenzo. Greg always talked about his love for the mountains, which grew during his time as an over the road truck driver. His next adventure took him to Ohio, where he owned and operated Trask Landscaping and Snow Removal for many years. Greg’s health ended his dream career as the Ranch Manager at the Rockin’ P Ranch in Pekin, Illinois where he touched so many lives.
He had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. His kind, warm heart will forever be remembered by his family and friends from all over the U.S. His children and grandchildren will always look back on the memories they shared together, whether it was camping, horse-back riding, going to sporting events, or family holiday gatherings. They will always remember his smile, his laughter, his love, and sense of humor.
Greg, 63, passed away peacefully June 13, 2019 at EveryStep Kavanagh House in Des Moines, after a hard-fought battle with COPD, Rheumatoid Arthritis and ultimately Pulmonary Fibrosis.
He is survived by his Australian Shephard, Molly; two daughters, Angie (Jeremy) Beck of Boone, IA; and Stacey (Tom) Wardell of Thor, IA; five grandchildren, Hunter and Taylor Beck; Mason, Peyton and Collin Wardell; one brother, Doug (Wendy) Trask, of Swisher, IA; two sisters, Glenda (Doug) Elliott of Polk City, IA; Lori (Kevin) Deaton of Dallas Center, IA; along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A special thank you to the staff at the Kavanagh House and friends for the loving care they provided to Greg and our family.
