Orville Harlan Moss was born February 10, 1923 near Eagle Grove, Iowa, the son of Lars and Marie Howland Moss.

He received his education in a rural school east of Eagle Grove.

He was married to Grace Johnson of Humboldt, Iowa, on February 10, 1944 at the Samuel Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove. The couple farmed east of Eagle Grove until he retired three years ago due to ill health.

Orville died September 28, 1986 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa, at the age of 63 years, seven months and 18 days.

He is a member of the Samuel Lutheran Church, Eagle Grove.

He is survived by his wife, Grace; sons, Duane of Clayton, N.M., Steve and Ricky of Eagle Grove; daughters, Constance (Mrs. Tom) Adams of Eagle Grove, Sharon (Mrs. Edward) Woodley of Vincent; brothers Olaf and Martin of Clarion, Harold of Webster City; sisters, Esther (Mrs. Norris) Skadburg of Goldfield and Mildred Edwards of Clarion; and 13 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Palmer Moss.

Services for Orville Harlan Moss, 63, of Eagle Grove, were held Wednesday, Oct. 1, 1986 at the Samuel Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Rev. Carlton Shaw officiated.
