August 2, 1928 --- January 18, 1981

Clarence Lee Williamson, the son of Lewis Raymond and Lavina Hamer Williamson, was born on August 2, 1928, near Clarion, Iowa. He died at the Williamson farm home near Eagle Grove, on Sunday morning, January 18, 1981, after suffering an apparent heart attack. He attained the age of 52 years, 5 months and 16 days.

He grew up on a farm near Eagle Grove and graduated from the Eagle Grove High School with the class of 1945. He was united in marriage with Margaret Williams of Eagle Grove on October 8, 1950 at Eagle Grove. To this union were born six children. He farmed near Eagle Grove and was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Bower Masonic Lodge of Eagle Grove.

Clarence was known nationally for raising purebred hogs. He was a past president of the Iowa Chester White Breeders Assoc. and had served on the boards of the Iowa Pork Producers; Iowa Purebred Swine Council; the National Chester White Assoc.; Wright County Pork Producers. He was honored as a 25-year exhibitor at the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines in 1979. He was a longtime exhibitor at the National Barrow Show. He was honored as a Iowa Master Seed Stock Producer in 1971. He was an avid Iowa State football and basketball fan.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret; his children: Julie, Mrs. Don Wilson of West Liberty; Pat, Mrs. Randy Lohmeier of Fort Dodge; Barbara Williamson of Eagle Grove; Russell Williamson of Fort Dodge; Raymond Williamson and Randy Williamson both of Eagle Grove; three grandchildren; a sister, Lela, Mrs. Lyle Trehearne, Riverton, Wyo.; a brother, Lewis Williamson of LeRoy, Minn. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Don.

Memorial services for Clarence L. Williamson were held at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove. Rev. Don Callen officiated and the body was cremated and the ashes will be buried later.
