Norman Fisher Dies Suddenly At His Home

Heart Attack Is Fatal to Well Known Troy Township Farmer

Funeral services for Norman Fisher, 57, will be held in the Evangelical Lutheran church Friday, April 24 at 2 p. m. Rev. K. R. Torvik will officiate and burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery.

A heart attack Monday afternoon about 1:30 proved fatal to the well known Troy township farmer. The death was a shock to his many friends as he had been about his work and in his usual good health.

Mr. Fisher was born February 22, 1896 in Eagle Grove. He has been a life long resident of Eagle Grove and Troy township.

He is survived by his wife and one daughter Mrs. James Spangler and by three sisters, Mrs. Ovid Watson, Mrs. Glen Baker and Mrs. Richard Knutson.

Obituary

Norman Fisher, son of Alonzo and Delia Griffith Fisher, was born near Eagle Grove, February 22, 1896 and lived, his whole life in this vicinity. He received his education in the public schools of Eagle Grove. His chosen career of farming began at an early age.

September 6, 1917 he married Mable Louise Wagner, also of Eagle Grove. Two children were born to them. Phyllis, now Mrs. James Spangler of Eagle Grove, and Leonard who died in early infancy.

Norman Fisher loved the soil and delighted in making it yield abundantly. He was also a very successful stock raiser. His beautiful, well kept farm bespoke the true agriculturist, industrious and practical.

A kind, generous husband and father, a good neighbor and a true friend, his home community held him in highest esteem.

For the past several years he faithfully attended the Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church with his family where he also attended services the day preceding his, death Monday, April 20, 1953, at the age of 57 years and 2 months. Mourning their loss are his daughter Phyllis and her husband James Spangler and their three [four] children, Joan, Dean, Norman and Loren, and three sisters, Lulu, Mrs. Glenn Baker, Tressa, Mrs. Oved Watson and Louise, Mrs. Richard Knutson all of Eagle Grove.

Interment, followed at Rose Hill Cemetery.

New Mex., Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Kuehnast, Mr. and Mrs. Art Kirchhoff, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Kirchhoff, Humboldt; Mrs. Joseph Smith, Omaha, Neb.; Nels Larson and Helen Larson, Britt, Mrs. E. Buckingham, Paul Ritenour, Wyoming, Iowa, others attending from Renwick, Clarion, Goldfield and Holmes.
