Mrs. Leland Wheeler (Vivian Marguerite Jones) Short, 79, of 3151 Redlich Drive died 10:43 p.m. Wednesday (March 21, 1979) in Americana Health Care Center. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Marks Cemetery, Marks, Miss. Brintlinger's Pershing Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Mrs. Short was born in Eagle Grove, Iowa, daughter of Ira M. and Margaretha Jones. She was affiliated with Mount Zion United Methodist Church. She married Leland Wheeler Short in 1920. He preceded in death. Surviving are sons, Richard C. of Ringwood, N.J.; Robert Arlo of Atlanta, Ga.; Morris W. and Howard D., both of Houston, Texas; Russell Dean of Decatur; daughter, Mrs. Jack (Margaret Beth) Shelton of Weatherford, Okla.; 25 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren. Two sisters preceded her in death.
