August 5, 1860 --- September 7, 1931

Gudman Jergensen was born August 5, 1860, to Jergen and Julia Olson at Stavanger, Norway, Ordal Sogn, and passed away at his home in Dayton township Monday night, September 7, having reached the age of seventy-one years, one month and two days. In March 1891, Mr. Jergensen as united In marriage to Julia Anderson and to this union fourteen children were born: Ben of Spirit Lake; Mrs. Howard Larson, Hardy; Jess, Vincent; Grant, Eagle Grove; Clarence, Goldfield; Leonard, Clarion; Stella, James, Clarice, Bernice, Violet and Rezetta all at home. Two children of this union passed away in infancy. Besides his wife and the children, he is survived by one brother, Ole, also of Dayton township, thirty-three grandchildren, two great grandchildren.

The services were held Thursday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the West Side Lutheran church in charge of Rev. Ljostveit and interment was in the Rosehill cemetery at Eagle Grove.
