Marie Gibson, 75, of Eagle Grove, died March 28, 2019 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge. Private family services will be held at a later date. Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services are handling the arrangements.

Marie Lucille Shackelford, the daughter of Wayne and Mildred (Dutler) Shackelford, was born June 19, 1943 in Iowa City. She graduated from Guthrie Center High School in 1962 and later from the American Academy Beauty School in Des Moines. Marie was united in marriage to Arnold Gibson on January 21, 1967. Marie worked as a beautician and owned Marie’s Beauty Shop in Guthrie Center for many years. Marie was an active member of the Rebekahs for many years. She was also an active member of the Christian Church in Guthrie Center.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years Arnold, her children Terry (Nan) Gibson of Rockford and Sandra (Scott) Sjoberg of Eagle Grove; grandchildren Lynnay, Kyle, Kacee, Kay-lee, and Hanna; great-grandchildren Camdyn, Sophia, Charlie, Andrea and Zane, her brothers Dennis (Mary) Shackelford of Bedford and Harry (Sue) Shackelford of Bagley; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her great granddaughter Gabriella, her parents and her brother Marvin.
