12 December 1859 --- 1 September 1927

Obituary of Mrs. George F. Haines
Dora Inez Warner was born Dec. 12, 1859, in Schenectady, N.Y. She remained there until she was 12 years of age, when, with her parents, she came to Hardin county, Iowa, and settled on a farm near Alden. After spending several years on the farm she moved to Iowa Falls and from there she went to Cedar Rapids, where she attended school. She returned to the farm and at the age of 24 was married to George F. Haines on June 25, 1884. In 1897 they moved to Eagle Grove, where they have since lived. One child, Flora, was born to this union. Mr. Haines passed away on Jan. 30, 1922. Mrs. Haines has been a member of the Christian church for about twenty-five years but since living in Eagle Grove she has made the Methodist church her church home. She has always been a sincere Christian woman.

Mrs. Haines has been afflicted with deafness for about thirty years. For the past year she has been in very poor health. She grew worse until the end came on the evening of Sept. 1, 1927, at the age of 67 years, 8 months, and 19 days. She is survived by her daughter, Flora; her stepmother, Mrs. M. A. Warner; one brother, Bert Warner, of Hot Springs, Ark.; two sisters, Mrs. Cora Barnhart of Laurens, Iowa, and Mrs. Mae Dwigins of Freeport, Texas.

Funeral services were held in the home on North Cadwell avenue on Saturday afternoon. The sermon was preached by W. G. Muhleman, pastor of the Methodist church. Interment was made in Rose Hill cemetery.
