Mrs. Black Died Friday
Mrs. Herbert Black, 75, longtime Webster City resident, died Friday afternoon at the Hamilton
County hospital where she had been a patient for several weeks. She had been in failing health for the past year. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Greenfield Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Paul Heath officiating and the burial at Cass Center cemetery.

Bessie Frederick, daughter of John and Sophia Frederick, was born Dec. 21, 1889, in Eagle Grove, Iowa, and was reared and educated in that city. She was united in marriage April 27, 1910, to Herbert Black of Webster City. They had resided in Webster City since their marriage. Last April 27 they celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary.

She is survived by her husband; three sons and five daughters: Francis of Modoc, Indiana; Harvey of Clarion, Iowa; and Richard of Webster City; Mrs. Robert (Mildred) Pringle of Webster City, Mrs. Robert (Marjorie) Eide of West Des Moines, Iowa, Mrs. E. J. (Mabelle) Floyd of West Des Moines, Iowa, Mrs. Don (Marian) Newcomb of Eagle Grove, Iowa, Mrs. Cecil (Marcella) Bige of Woolstock, Iowa. Also surviving are 20 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister. She was baptized in the Methodist faith.
