Miss Mary Dundon, 71, a former teacher, in the Webster City school system tor 25 years, died this morning at the Brooks nursing home in Eagle Grove where she had been a patient the past three or four weeks.

Hundreds of Webster City school pupils attended classes taught by Miss Dundon who was an instructor at both Lawn Hill and South building. She resigned in 1931 because of ill health, after completing a quarter of a century as one of the city's most respected instructors.

Rosary will be said Friday evening at 8 o'clock at the Kastler funeral home in Eagle Grove. Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Sacred Heart church in Eagle Grove.

Mary Dundon, daughter of Michael and Mary Dundon, was born Feb. 28, 1878 [January 31, 1878], on a farm in Fremont township, Hamilton county. She grew to young womanhood in this community and received her early education in the local schools.

Following her resignation from her teaching position in Webster City, she went to make her home in Eagle Grove, keeping house for two brothers, Jim and Tom Dundon.

She was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Catherine Wehrheim of Eagle Grove and Mrs. Andrew Christenson of this city; one brother, Jim, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Miss Mary Dundon, 72, were held Saturday morning, Feb. 18th, in Sacred Heart church. Rev. James Slowey officiated at the mass, and burial was in Calvary cemetery.

Miss Dundon died Thursday morning at the Brooks' Nursing home where she was a patient for four weeks.

Miss Dundon was a former teacher in the Webster City schools, where hundreds of Webster City pupils attended her classes. During her many years of residence in Webster City, she was a member of the P.E.O. Chapter there, and was active in the educational and club work in that city. Mack Kantor, the famed writer, was a pupil of Miss Dundon's, and he affectionately referred to her in his book "But Look The Morn." She resigned in 1931 because of ill health, after completing a quarter of a century as one of Webster City's most respected instructors.

Following her resignation she came to Eagle Grove to make her home, keeping house for her two brothers James and Tom Dundon. The latter died only a few weeks ago.

She is now survived by her brother James, and two sisters, Mrs. William Wehrheim of this city, and Mrs. Andrew Christensen [Christenson] of Webster City.

Out-of-town relatives attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Robert DeVine of Omaha, Neb., Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wehrheim, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Smith, Clarion; Mr. and Mrs. Howard Wright and Dick, and Andrew Christensen [Christenson] of Webster City; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Roskoff and Mrs. Susie Furman, Webster City.
