November 8, 1856 --- January 13, 1934

Mrs. Ettie Stouffer Drill was born in Maryland, November 8, 1856, and passed away at her home on North Cadwell avenue early Saturday morning, January 13, 1934.

When a young woman she was united in marriage to Chas. W. Drill, in Maryland. To this union were born two sons, Charles who died in infancy, and Ira G. Drill, now residing at Woolsey, No. Dak. There is one granddaughter, Mary Jane Drill, at home with her parents. There remain also to mourn their loss, two brothers, F. D. Stouffer of Waynesboro, Penn., and Melvin Stouffer of Hagerstown, Md., besides several nieces and nephews. Two brothers preceded her in death.

Mr. and Mrs. Drill came to Eagle Grove from Hagerstown in 1882 and consequently have been in this city nearly from its earliest history.

Mrs. Drill belonged to one of the oldest families in Maryland, being descended from the first settlers of that state.

Mrs. Drill had been in ill health for a number of years but her death at the last was unexpected. Not only her family but her neighbors and friends, testify to her kindly Christian character and will deeply mourn their loss.

When a young girl she was baptized and became a member of the Christian (Disciples) church. For many years she had been a member of the O. E. S., Eagle Grove chapter No. 114.

The funeral was held at the Kubltschek and Kastler funeral home Monday afternoon, Rev. Albert S. Kilbourn officiating. The beautiful Eastern Star service was held at the funeral home and burial was at Rose Hill cemetery.
