Death Came Suddenly After But a Day's Illness. Funeral Services Wednesday Afternoon.

Mrs. Harry Dearth, 53, died at her home on Wright Street at 12:30 a. m., Monday, July 7th, She had been critically ill for not more than a day, but had been in rather poor health for several years.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at the East Side Evanglical Lutheran church with the Rev. T. J. Severtson in charge. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.

Obituary

Verna S. Johnson was born to the parents, John O. and Belle Johnson, October 15, 1887, at Eagle Grove, Iowa, and passed away from this life at her home. 116 N. Wright Street, Eagle Grove, at 12:30 a. m. Monday, July 7, 1941, at the age of 53 years, 8 months and 21 days. She was baptized unto Christ on Nov. 18, 1888, and has since been a member of the Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran church. She attended the Eagle Grove public schools, graduating from the high school with the class of 1906.

On September 3, 1919, she was united in marriage to Harry Dearth, who survives her. She is also survived by their son, Robert, and by one sister, Mrs. Winnie J. Christensen; Mason City; and by two brothers, Wm. Elmer Johnson, Mason City, and Leo J. Johnson, Long Beach, Calif.

Mrs. Dearth was a very helpful and neighborly neighbor, and anything she could do for anyone was not too much. She took a vital interest in her community and city. She was a true friend and a kind and sympathetic wife and mother. She was a faithful worshiper at her Sunday School and church services. She gladly did her part in the church. She passed away somewhat unexpectedly after but a few days of sickness, although her health had not been so good for several years.
