Margaret S. Anderson was born April 24, 1916 at, Courtenay, N.D., the daughter of Lars and Agnes Anderson. She attended a rural Lake Township school and attended the Clarion High School. Margaret was united in marriage to Dale Trotter of Goldfield, Iowa on January 15, 1937 at Eagle Grove. The couple made their home in Eagle Grove until 1945 when they moved to Goldfield. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Goldfield and the UMW of the church. Margaret had been a patient in the Methodist Hospital, Rochester, Minn., from March 9, 1987 until April 4 before returning home. She entered the Clarion Community Hospital on Thursday, April 9, where she was a patient until her death on April 24, at the age of 71 years.

She is survived by her husband Dale, Goldfield; two sons: Richard of Goldfield and Randy of Hudson, Iowa; one brother, Alfred Anderson, Eagle Grove; four sisters: Esther Roseland, Eagle Grove; Marie Knight, Goldfield; Mrs. Arthur (Lila) Roseland, Eagle Grove; and Mrs. Larry (Lillian) Stevenson, Goldfield; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Ronald; and two brothers, Albert and Arthur.

Funeral services for Margaret Trotter were held Monday, April 27, 1987 at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, Goldfield. Rev. Kenneth Peterson officiated, and burial was in the Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield.
