Baby Daughter Dies

Adeline Marcine, the five-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Selmar [Salmer] Anderson, died at the family home three and one half miles northwest of Holmes on Friday. The little one had been ill of intestinal flu for several days. She was about the house on Thursday and insisted upon waiting to eat supper with her father when he came in from the field. As Mr. Anderson neared the house he was surprised to see his daughter wave from the porch. He put the team away and upon returning to the house found that Adeline Marcine had become desperately ill and was unconscious. She continued to grow worse until she passed away the following day. Tragedy seems to have entered the home for at the hour of Adeline Marcine's death the grandmother, Mrs. George Jordanger, who had been there from Kanawha helping care for her was stricken with paralysis. She has since remained in a critical condition.

Funeral services in charge of Rev. Ljostveit were held from the Holmes Lutheran church on Monday. There was a large attendance present to express their sympathy.
