August 1877 ---- May 6, 1888

Last Sunday morning died the little daughter of Engineer Lynch with diphtheria. This dread disease claimed her as its first victim. The sympathy of all is extended to the family.

Since the last issue of the Times death has again entered this community, removing to that better land two intelligent, interesting little girls Jennie Lynch, aged 10 years and 9 months, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Lynch; and Mabel S. Dinnie, twin daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Dinnie, aged 7 years and 26 days. God beckoned and they have gone to Him, but leaving behind such sad, sad hearts—such sad memories—such sad homes.

The death of the former occurred on Sunday last, May 6th, and the latter the next day, Monday, the 7th inst. Both children were stricken down at about the same time with that dire disease, diphtheria, which soon developed into a very malignant type, defying all medical aid and the tenderest, carefulest nursing, the little patients suffering grievously meanwhile up to the last moment of dissolution. This phase of their illness was exceedingly hard for the fond parents and, solicitous friends, and in their sore bereavement the whole community extends sincere, heartfelt condolence.
