January 4, 1925 --- March 10, 1995

Arnold LeRoy Amerson was born on January 4, 1925 in Lake Township, south of Renwick, Iowa to John and Annie Rasmussen Amerson. He received his education in the rural school system near Goldfield. After his education, he farmed south of Renwick. He served his country during World War II in the United States Navy. After returning from the service, he returned to farming. On June 29, 1952, he married Marien Crossley in the old Methodist Church in Renwick. The couple continued to farm south of Renwick and he also started a small engine business on the farm. His health started to fail, and he moved the business into Renwick in the late 1980's. In 1991, they moved into Renwick and retired.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Hardy. He was a member of the Harvey-McPeak American Legion Post #289 of Renwick and the Sather-Odgaard VFW Post #5240 in Humboldt. He was also a lifetime member of Izaak Walton League of Renwick.

Arnold LeRoy Amerson died on Friday, March 10, 1995 at the Hamilton County Public Hospital in Webster City at the age of 70.

Survivors include his wife, Marien, Renwick; one daughter, Amy Schneider and husband Jeff, Renwick; and two grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Evelyn Nervig, Eagle Grove, Bernice Johnson, Elmore, Minn.; and one brother, Raymond Amerson, Goldfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services for Arnold LeRoy Amerson will be held Saturday, March 25, 1995 at 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Renwick, Iowa with Pastors Jim and Shirley Rozendaal officiating. Inurnment will be in Vernon Township Cemetery in rural Hardy, Iowa.

Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home in Renwick, Iowa is in charge of arrangements.
